Summer Planting

Plant bulbs approx. 4 inches deep, making sure that the soil is in contact with all of the bulb (leaving the bulb in an air pocket can cause it to desiccate). Plant the bulb on a layer of sand to facilitate drainage around the basal plate. If there are any roots already growing, gently work these into the sand.

No watering will be necessary, unless there is an exceptionally dry autumn.
